Checking out the Electrickery
The village was being buzzed for quite a while this morning. We thought it was the Police helicopter following some miscreant, but when I looked through the big lens I saw it was the National Grid folks, probably checking the powerlines.
It's only when I pulled up my blip on the screen that I spotted how the perspective suggests we have lots of pylons in a small space. We do have lots of pylons around us as they are headed in to/out of the transmission station over the hill, but in the normal view they are much further spread. They do also become simply part of the landscape.
Electrickery? One of the wonderful words from a favourite childhood television programme, Catweazel, a wizard transported in to present times. Another one of his words I recall is telling-bone.
