Hot day
Pleased that the sunny weather has lasted for another day (& predicted for tomorrow too) we packed a picnic and drove over the moors to Widecombe on the Moor. We stopped on the way, and walked up to a tor that looked down onto the village. Good for photos, and lovely views. We even found a geo cache. In the village, we had a wander, bought a couple of bits from a craft market in the tiny village hall, and half a pint of local cider in one of the 3 pubs. In one of the shops we saw Tom Cobley's chair. It is said to be over 500 years old. I didn't take a photo as they wanted you to make a donation, and I have absolutely no cash now, as what I had has been used for car parks.
From there we drove on to a quiet spot on the moor to picnic, and relaxed for an hour or so. Mollie and Josh had gone off on their own shopping, and then to a spot on the moor to do some wild swimming. It sounded like they had a good day. By chance, we met them on our homeward journey, out on the moor.
After picking up some burgers, pork and chicken in Bovey Tracey we went home to enjoy a simple but tasty barbeque tea for 5.
The sun has zonked everyone out. I'm heading to the shower, then another evening of reading is probably on the menu!
