Wildflower fields
This was at Heligan today. Last year these fields were full of poppies but new seeds were not planted in the hope that they would seed themselves. Instead the corn marigolds took over! You could turn 360 degrees and see yellow everywhere. Heligan say the flowers cover 15 acres. You may be able to see white dots in the far distance against the dark hedge - they are people!
Heligan has made a good job of timed bookings and lots of measures to help people keep their distance. Yet still an old man with a stick struggled up a hill and plonked himself down on a bench right next to me (I had also just struggled up the hill!) I just got up and said 'That's too close!' as I walked away. 'Sorry' he said. But only about four paces away was another bench he could have sat on!
