Another fine example of photosynthesis in action

This beautiful fern was so nicely backlit by the afternoon sun that I had to pause from my work to step out back and snap a few photos. I've spent little time outdoors at this new house, partly due to the cold, wet winter weather, and partly due to the general layout of the house itself. So, it was refreshing to get outside today, and walk around the house and explore my backyard full of trees, and ferns, and moss and lichens. I love the delicate serrated edges on these fronds, highlighted by the sunlight.
