Happy Birthday Kate


The Gin Palace is in danger of being completely enveloped by the surrounding greenery.  Between last summer and this, our garden seems to have grown completely out of control.  Trees, shrubs and bushes are taking over!  Time to take back control!

With this in mind we met with Douglas the garden guy today, to have a walk round and discuss what needs cut back and what needs removed.  

Thankfully Douglas confirmed the majority of the work needed is just a cut back and tidy, with  three 8' conifers being removed as they've just grown too big for their allotted space.  

Some of the more mature trees also need some attention so Douglas left and returned a short time later with the tree surgeon he works with and he will deal with cutting back the taller trees and hopefully rescuing the Gin Palace.

I impressed myself with my knowledge of the names of the various plants I wanted to discuss with Douglas, till I realised after he left I had been referring to Lady's Mantle as Lady's Garden for the whole of his visit!  Hahahahahahahahaha!  How he kept a straight face I will never know!!!  

And on that note, I want to wish my favourite lady, the musical genius that is Kate Bush, a very, very, very Happy Birthday :D  

I started this blip with one of my favourite songs of hers and can't see any reason not to end it with another.  A Coral Room seems appropriate on her birthday since it's about her mother.
