High Summer

Flower Friday: Poppy

It is hot today.  Currently it is 29C and brilliantly sunny.  It was already warm by 7am when I had breakfast outdoors on the patio - not something that you would normally want to do in the UK :-)

I took the opportunity to take my blip early on -  this shot of a poppy was taken in Cathy's wildflower garden this morning. 

For a while I was able to sit outside reading and playing some acoustic guitar in the shade.  Much as I enjoy the sunshine it is now too hot outside for me to sit comfortably, even in the shade and I have retreated indoors into the shade for a few hours, until it starts to cool down a bit.  It is definitely a day for taking it easy I think.
