This sculpture sits at the entrance to a small district called Tasman, on what was once the main road between Motueka and Nelson, NZ, but since the bypass was opened those who choose to use this route can enjoy the scenery along the way without the high volume of traffic.

The mudflat seen beyond is part of the tidal Moutere Inlet and home to a variety of sea birds, all featured on this sculpture.
