Emu family
Today an Emu family came to live with our son's family at the Accidental Zoo. They had been hoping to find a small group looking for a new home. These Emu's travelled all the way from Manchester area in their trailer yesterday and were shipped over on a ship owned by a friend. So, at 7 am this morning they arrived unaccompanied in a large cattle trailer in St Peter Port and were quickly transferred to their new paddock. They are very friendly having been hand reared. The pair are called George and Mildred and their young chick is called Willow who hatched this Spring. Sadly Strawberry passed away during the winter and is very missed.
The new family enjoyed their first dip in the pool to cool off this afternoon.
