Antique.
Coffee anyone? I spotted this absolute beauty in the office kitchen today and you could hear my sneakers squeak as I immediately turned around and ran for the camera. I can only imagine that this beautiful piece of hardware has been with the company since about 100BC. Maybe there was even a tea lady who would prepare and fill your cup when you came into the kitchen? I can say that without being sexist because when I worked for a University many years ago there actually was a tea lady whose job it was to make coffee and prepare biscuits for morning tea time. At around 10:30am it was "down tools" and everyone would file through the kitchen which had lounge chairs when you would have a coffee and biscuits and just let the stress of the morning melt away for ten minutes. That would never fly these days. Back in those days, it was a very new practice to come into the office and check your email on a text based email client. Far from stressful, checking your email would generally be a few notices about new policy or procedure or a memo about the photocopier being out of service. A far cry from today in private enterprise where the practice of checking your emails is more like being smacked in the face with another problem with each email you open ;O)
This coffee warmer brings a smile to my face. It may not be warming coffee so much these days but instead it's warming my heart as it reminds me of those days.
