Pigeon Point Lighthouse

We took a less direct route from Lodi to Santa Cruz that included a stop at the Pigeon Point Lighthouse. The lighthouse has fallen into disrepair and there were signs soliciting donations for restoration throughout the State Historic Park. The Park Service also runs a hostel on site, though the actual lighthouse is unsafe and fenced off (by more than the picket fence shown here). The interpretive sign says a light is still used here at night (though not from the actual lighthouse), just like it has been since 1872.
