Kingfisher on a plate
A successful trip to see the local star bird - the Kingfisher.
Met up with a few friends from the camera club with the hope of catching a glimpse of the Kingfisher as it turned out it couldn't have been much easier.
Within a few minutes we had a fleeting view and a flash of blue then after wasting sometime in the wrong direction we were treated to a fishing display and there was soon a crowd of people watching in amazement. Some had only ever seen all the Mallards but others walked by and said "Oh that's always here!"
I spent more time watching than snapping - I know this isn't a really sharp photo but it is of a Kingfisher so I'm very happy.
During this time we also saw 19 species which was quite a good list and many more than I expected.
