Sea palm and a calm Pacific
It must have been a day like this when Magellan came upon this body of water and felt entitled to name it. What fascinates me here are these strange little seaweed structures called Postelsia, or "sea palm." They look to me like something Dr. Seuss might have drawn.
The tidal pools around Yachats are rich with life: sea anemones, sea stars, many varieties of sea weeds, mussels, crabs, several kinds of barnacles (two extras). Life and more life.
