The Dooryard is in Bloom

Dear Diary,

When I first moved to my little farmhouse 25 years ago, there was a small patch of pink phlox by the door.  Over the years I've divided it and let it spread so that now it nearly fills up the front.  I know I should add some other perennials but I like this late July show of phlox.  The Tiger Lilies you can just see in the back are "volunteers", brought from my neighbor's house across the street by bird or squirrel.  It is a contribution that I just love.  They will be coming into full bloom this week and I will give them their own 15 minutes of fame.  Today, it is the phlox the spotlight shines on!
