Paused Shielding - Day 1

After 19 weeks of Lockdown, Shielding was “paused” today. Not that that will make a huge change to daily life here at the ranch, the virus isn’t going anywhere. What with the recent news, just wondering how long before they “unpause” Shielding...

But for today I felt nearly “normal”. Met up with a friend for a walk around the park, then we headed to my favourite riverside pub where we’d booked a socially-distanced table on the decking for an early birthday drink. Sitting in the warm sunshine with a glass of chilled Rosé de Provence, I tried to convince myself it was as good as being in France, which is where my neighbours are right now. Am I envious of them? You bet!
