SOME LIKE IT HOT

Today, August 1st, is the hottest day of the year, so far, at 101F (38.3C).
I hope it gets no hotter in August, but in years past, we competed with 
Arizona, at 107F (41.7C) for a few days.  I hope history will not repeat itself.

When I saw this car with the duck floaty, I wanted to follow it to whatever cool lake or pool was its destination.  A nice dip is exactly what I craved,
Instead I went home & watered my parched flowers, hoping for a cool nap later.

Here is a bit of good news in regards to our president's attempts at 
voter suppression.  With COVID-19 surging in many areas of the US, there is a push to have everyone vote by mail, to save them from the risk of exposure. Although VOTE-BY-MAIL has been commonly used in many states, without incident, Trump is kicking up a fuss that voter fraud is
rampant.  Ironically, he & his whole family VOTE-BY-MAIL.  He calls it
an Absentee Ballot, but they are the same.  

The good news is our local newspaper debunked all the conspiracy theories about voter fraud, & interviewed our county Clerk-Recorder who
said most officials believe this process is more secure, for a variety of reasons.  He said 60% of our registered voter already VOTE BY MAIL, & all these ballots include a signature, that can be verified.  

Our president is also using his appointed crony, to mess with the 
US Postal Service, hoping the mail with get so delayed, the ballots
don't arrive.  If the ballots can be delivered to voters' homes, they can
bypass the post office by delivering them to a polling place. I am hoping everyone will be able to defeat Trumps's attempt to disenfranchise us.
We can each be vigilant & not allow him to highjack the election.
Every vote is important, & should be counted.  This is not rocket science.
