How not to kill your houseplants

I took a quick photo of this page for reference before lending my How Not To Kill Your Houseplants book to our friend Anna who took away a couple of my propagated jades and aloe Vera's.
We were given a Parlour Palm as a house moving gift but its not doing too well as I've not watered it enough during the heat. Hopefully I can save it!
