Sunday at the beach
No, I'm just kidding. We cycled to Maastricht, the locks of Petit Lanaye, back to Maastricht to drink coffee outside a new café, the Restobar Mama.
If you want to you can sit lazily on the beach chairs, but I prefer the ones looking like they won't collapse. I notice there are some safety hooks screwed on the chair legs, which means I'm not the only one whose fingers got trapped when the chair I sat in collapsed itself.
The dolomite sand, or gravier d'or, suggests as if you are in France. On this Sunday morning, the few people were in no hurry. Joggers and children busy with bucket and shovel. In the background, you see the climbing frame that has the shape of the skeleton of a Mosasaurus, the lizard of the river Maas.
The first fossil remains were found near Maastricht in the Sint-Pietersberg, which lies on the bank of the river Maas. The Mosasaurus is named after the river.
Back home, I started a Mary Kondo on our photos. No worries, I won't leave the ones where people are on.
