Meet Charlie
After Charlie Parker, apparently, not a former colleague of F's (which was my, and apparently everyone else's first reaction...). We were in the East Neuk to see F and G, who have been there since lockdown. It was lovely to see them and enjoy their beautiful garden (although we ate lunch inside). We'd earlier paid visits to Elie and St Monans, and although the East Neuk is quite busy, it really is not like "normal" years. There are lots of people on holiday (all the lets are full, apparently), but perhaps fewer day trippers. That's certainly the case in Pittenweem, which we visited exactly a year ago today (that was the first day of the Art Festival). Inevitably, I ran into someone I know slightly in St Monans, who was there on holiday with her family. Scotland really is a village.
On the way back we called into Dysart Harbour, which I have seen previously via blip, in particular by Iaint (and even this morning!) and which didn't disappoint. We'll make a special trip there at some point, as Mr A wants to take his proper camera. I always find Fife endlessly fascinating.
A pleasant sunny day out (apart from the odd shower), with seeing friends being the icing on the cake.
I've added extras of a view taken out of Lady Janet Anstruther's Tower on Elie Ness using the extra wide camera on the phone and of Dysart Harbour.
