Trifolium incarnatum
On an unexploited streak of land, bordering a field of corn, I saw several different types of plants. This crimson clover was one of them.
Together the plants offered a diversity, so much needed. I don't know whether all farmers get compensation for leaving parts of the land unused, but at least some get paid by interested persons who hope to do something good for mother earth.
Thanks to Miranda1008 for hosting the WildFlowerWeek challenge.
