Spring green
"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes - and ships - and sealing-wax -
Of cabbages - and kings..."
(and most particularly cabbages)
On a six mile walk around Sutton Hoo today I saw:
- a cheerful fox, bounding,
- a murmuration of starlings, wheeling
- a dell of snowdrops, blooming,
- a rusty kestrel, hovering,
- a pair of skylarks rising from the winter fields like little helicopters, and singing like angels,
all underneath a sparkling iceblue sky.
But the crown has to go to this beautiful field of Savoys. They were quite as green as they were cabbage-looking..
