Photobombed

At last red cardinals began to emerge in the meadow. Under a cloudy sky, the colour is so intense. It can be difficult to show its intensity, yet still keep the detail. Lowering the background saturation helps somewhat. Obviously red and green are opposites. It seems contradictory, but bright sunlight washes out colour I find.

A yellow brown-eyed susan leans in, trying to steal the show. Being lighter, yellow attracts the eye, and in the singular, makes a counterpoint. The red petals almost seem as if made from paper.

Not much to adjust in LR, interesting to see the differing effects on colour rendition of the Fuji profiles. This time I stuck with Provia, which is what my camera is set to.
