Droxford railway station

Scorching hot day in the morning but the temperature dropped late afternoon.  Vik picked me up from London and we drove to see this house, still in the Meon Valley.  It is, fairly obviously, a converted railway station.  The line closed in 1955 so this beautiful piece of Edwardian architecture was only in use for half a century.  The two and half acre garden is stunning, with a large wood, orchard, huge herbaceous borders but also tons of wild areas. But the house felt like a stage set with only one large room (although that was the ticket hall so huge).  The bedrooms were tiny.  The signal box is also converted into separate guest house.
