It's Tiger Lily's Time

Dear Diary,

My beautiful volunteer Tiger Lilies are blooming and they are putting on a great show.  Yesterday, I went around gathering the bulbils on the stems, you can see them just above the flower in the photograph, to plant in the Tiger Lily "nursery".  I will also scatter the seeds around the garden today hoping to spread their joy.  I really like their curled petals.  I can't help but think of Princess Tiger Lily from Peter Pan.  I watched the television production ("I'm flying!") with awe in 1960.  50 years later I met the wife of one of the Little Lost Boys whose uncle was Cyril Ritchard, Captain Hook.  So, today I will think wonderful thoughts and up, up the Tiger Lily seeds will go...they're flying!
