Corn dolly

We decided to take a drive up to the Little Rollright area to have a look at the famous Neolithic stone circle and the Whispering Knights and King Stone which are close by.
Quite a few people were there too with lots of children which is nice to see as it means they weren’t boarded up in their bedrooms on computers and tablets etc lol.
The Rollright Stones are believed to date from around 2000BC and have different theories as to their origin. The one I like is that they were a king and his men turned to stone by a witch!
One part of the main circle is close to bushes which have all sorts of ornaments, crosses, ribbons, and other objects attached to them including this corn dolly but why I don’t know.
Mind in overdrive thinking of rituals, pagans etc there at the summer equinox :))
