I've noticed this a couple of times: the clock on our oven reads 23:59, 24:00, 00:01. Weird.

Restarted commuting by bike as the weather is pretty good at the moment. Last year I converted my commuting bike to single speed with an 1/8" chain: no gears means no extra cables, no derailleur, the chain lasts longer. And it works: I pulled the bike out of the garage after not looking at it in maybe 4 months and it worked like a charm first time. Nice.
