Baby Snek

This little guy is a juvenile Northern black racer. Probably born this spring/summer. By the time it's about three years old the pattern will no longer be visible and it'll literally be a black snake - although if you look at it very closely you can see the pattern faintly even in a full grown adult snake.

It was in the middle of the dirt road where we were walking, so we shifted it to the verge so it wouldn't get run over. S/he was VERY feisty!
