Japanese Black Pine

A Japanese Black Pine, one of the harder trees to keep in the UK. It is extremely vigrous and pushes out massive needles and shoots if not properly cared for which is trying to do in the apex of this photo!

The first thing I have to do is go over the entire tree and remove some needles until there are 10 pairs on each shoot. This is slow and tedious work bit will help slow down the tree and open up sites for more buds.

This will go in a new pot in the spring along with a change of planting angle slightly forwards.
