Over too soon!
It was so lovely getting up and this pair still being here.
We chatted even more over breakfast, still not running out of conversation despite not having that much to report from the last few months!
One big piece of news for John and Norma is John's new car. He's traded in his VW Golf for a Nissan Quashqai and loving the elevated driving position...and all the fancy kit it comes with. Of course we went out and admired it as they were leaving.
I love their attitude to life. Norma is 84 and John is 82 (her toy boy as she refers to him :-) and their energy, positive attitude and lust for life is astounding! At Norma's age my gran wouldn't even buy a new cardigan, insisting what she had "would see her out!" Fabulous to watch them drive away beaming from ear to ear. I wish them many happy and safe journeys in it.
Once they'd gone, David took Lola out for her long walk and managed not to get wet. I spent a little time painting then planning our meals for the next week, before getting my online Tesco order done early for a change. Great not to be up against the ordering deadline with a laptop that decides to go on a go slow as I am trying to check out!
We had a Nigel Slater dish for dinner - baked potato with chorizo and Manchego cheese with a green salad. A forgotten favourite that we've not had for a couple of years. Absolutely delicious.
Got a text from Ele inviting us down to theirs on Sunday. D and Kenny will play golf (I think D is playing golf 6 days next week!) and, if the weather forecast is to be believed, Ele and I will relax in the garden and enjoy the sun.
First social trip out in months! Woo hoo. What to wear?!!! :-)))
Yesterday's grand reunion :-))
