Another Day

Started the day with Tai chi on the roof and now its dinnertime up there. with no exciting photos… Thanks goodness for Blue Apron delivery…2 per week..  I'm so sick of cooking.  (this was yummy- shrimp, zucchini, Orzo, )  Tomorrow we need to fill the larder.   Guess I need 1 blip of dinner on the deck....

Watched a webinar from the Seattle Public Library with Dr. Nancy Bristow talking about her book -American Pandemic, the Lost worlds of the 1918 Influenza Epidemic and the parallels,   and the differences (still to be determined) to this one.    Interesting…President Wilson was just as bad a leader as our present moran..only the opposite way…he never mentioned publicly the pandemic that affected 1/3 of the world and 1/4 of Americans!   Same issues of “why us?”/surprise, lack of preparation and leadership, inequities of resources people had, and racial disparities.  What’s different is Science.  We will presumably have a vaccine.  BUT can we change the unconscionable unwillingness of some to look after each other?  
Interesting that Chicago and New York never did close schools in 1918.l. they figured kids in these cities of vast immigrants were most likely safer there and could be the messengers to bring home public health instructions.   


Our trip today would have taken us to Medieval Rothenburg in Germany and a fun tour with a night watchman.   OH well…....
