August's 'Sturgeon 'Moon
For 2 nights we have watched the full moon rise.
On Monday we went to Teignmouth and along with many other spectators, watched as it loomed above the horizon, bright orange as it first appeared.
Usually there is a layer of cloud out to sea but on both these occasions, the moon was instantly clearly visible as it rose.
I wanted to include this couple using their mobiles to capture the moment and did wonder whether their devices would do it justice.
When I downloaded my images the exposure was ok apart from the actual moon so I have superimposed it from tonight's camera images taken along the coast at Hope's Nose.
In extras is a phone shot of tonight's moon through the trees and a handheld camera shot using the long lens
Next month's 'Harvest Moon' has a much nicer name IMHO
Jupiter and Saturn are also making their appearance above the pier
