Stanrigg Mining Bench

Just a small section of the bench which is part of the Memorial to the Stanrigg Mining Disaster.

102 years ago 19 men and boys died in the accident.  Eight teenagers were among those killed, along with two sets of fathers and sons, three brothers and three brothers-in-law. Eleven of the bodies were never recovered.
