Hollow Tree
A landmark day. We were setting off for Sheffield to visit the grandchildren not having seen them since early February. The trip down was trouble free and we arrived in time for lunch.
After lunch we were off for a walk in the local woods. The "little Tykes" were keen to show us a hollow tree they had found. They said both of them and Mummy could fit inside. We had a very pleasant walk marvelling at the age of some of the trees particularly Hawthorns with trunks up about 30 cm (1 ft) ib diameter. Sure enough the hollow tree could hold 3 at a squeeze. Here is Daniel just going in having run ahead of us to be first there.
The extra is an illustration of dedication. The blonde haired lady is a litter picking volunteer, she roams around the various woods in Sheffield as part of a volunteer group keeping things clean and tidy. The metal detector helped her to find ring pulls, squashed cans etc under the leaf litter. The kids did their bit by collecting 43 golf balls from the adjacent driving range.
