Pickled walnuts

The walnuts have blackened, I got them out in the sunshine for a while this morning. A quick trip to the supermarket which remarkably had pickling vinegar, and they were ready to bottle. Now I will wait at least until Xmas before trying one.
Rob said he fancied pickled eggs so I did a few of those for him, and they will be ready in a couple of days, as you don’t want them to get to strong.
I took the bees some more candy today and they seem a little happier with some eggs being laid, but I really don’t think we will have a honey crop this year. Hope to get them through the winter at least.
