Increasing the Arch
In home renovation complete with fine white dust penetrating everything even with the plastic curtains. the doorways are being widened to allow a wheelchair through and the bathroom (next week) will have a new handicap correct shower. I'll get new bathroom flooring, new paint colors too. To widen the living room's arched doorway they had to move it about 3 inches over. and keep the geometry. They lucked out because they used the original metal curve put in 50+ years ago. They said these things are simply not made anymore. Saved J. loads of time making his own model. He's a creative general contractor who loves finished work.
The country is helping me with these improvements. I got a grant that cost me no money as long as I continue living here. I do not use a wheelchair but whoever lives here after me might need this kind of house. It is to their benefit to improve certain houses in the country for everyone's better life.
If I live here another 20 years I might actually be needing a wheelchair since I am disabled with spinal disease. The little elf in the hoodie is the contractor. he does wonderful work. Arrive every morning around 8 a.m. (ugh!!) and it is after 6 p.m. right now. the plastering is done, he is vacuuming up, folding up the drop cloths, etc. and will drive home through the snowstorm to enjoy a snowy weekend.
I was hoping we would avoid it but an hour ago the "dumping of snowflake blobs" began. Hope he and his assistant -- also a nice elf but taller-- drive safely to their homes.
