Hay Bales in Front of the Storm

This is at Serenity Farm. I thought that it would be cool to take a picture from the farm in front of the incoming storm. As soon as I set up the tripod to take a pano, a truck from the farm drove up. The man driving asked me what I was using the photos for. I told him that I was just taking a picture a day for personal use. He threw up his arms just like the guy at the power plant.   I think that I need to figure out what the rules of photography are in public spaces.
