#MeToo

Yet more drama in this scandal ridden Alternative Olympic Games. This was the scene on Day 7 where we were glued to the 'high launch' pigeon timed sprint, where Penny was hot favourite to win. She got off to a flying start and knocked over 1 second off the World record to take Gold. However, complaints were made by other competitors and by Penny herself about the behaviour of Rodney who was next in the line up. As you can see, Rodney made his feelings towards Penny very clear, completely inappropriately in a professional setting with the World watching. Quite rightly, Rodney was immediately kicked out, but the judges are still considering whether his behaviour was instrumental in Penny making a better start than any pigeon has ever made in Olympic history. But even if it did, would it be fair for Penny to lose Gold? We'll update on all this week's news over the weekend.

I've had the builders round for a day and a half to fix the soakaway pipe drop and do lots of little bits of re-pointing. They look to have done a good job, rather them than me working in full sun in temperatures in the 30's. It's forecast not to drop below 22C tonight!

Day 145 / Full Day 137 of Lockdown / Day 35 of Step 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 98 to 46,511 with new daily cases up by 871. Deaths in Mexico pass 50k. New daily cases in France are 2,228, a level not seen since May. R rate rises to 0.8-1.0. Preston has been bought into line on lockdown measures with other areas in the North West as an 'area of intervention' after a spike in cases, half of which are in the under 30s. There may be a leveling off of cases in England based on limited population sampling. People returning to the UK from Belgium, the Bahamas and Andorra must now isolate for 14 days. Some scientists say that hairdressers should wear face masks as well as shields as the shields do not protect against breathing in the virus.
