Summer morning mist over Brimscombe and the common
I rose early to prepare myself for two days at the Shambles market. I had a long bath and then looked out of my study window to see how the day was faring. The weather forecast was for hot conditions today with temperatures in the low 30s.
Along the Golden Valley I was surprised to see these mists swirling down from Minchinhampton Common on the far side of the valley. The mists were spreading down the Brimscombe valley with wisps even reaching as far as Bownham and Montserrat.
I love the warmth and miss not getting to at least a Mediterranean climate for a short while each year. I keep thinking of staying in Sri Lanka for many weeks and especially of going to the beach at dawn to swim, before the sun became scorching.
