1920s portraits
It's a cold and wet Saturday afternoon. I have spent a very relaxing hour or so following links, sent to me by my sister-in-law, to YouTube videos about portraiture in the early 20th century. They have been a real treat. Thank you Meg and Philip Mould and the wonderful portrait painters.
This was one of my favourites. It was painted by Augustus John. I don't think you would call Ms Iris Beerbohm Tree 'sissy' to her face. She looks like a strong, determined young woman. I wish I had met her.
