Leni Stern African Trio at the Royal Room

One of my favorite jazz venues in Seattle is the Royal Room in the Columbia City neighborhood. The Royal Room has hosted a lot of jazz luminaries and have quite an eclectic mix of music.

Tonight, I saw the Leni Stern Trio. She plays the guitar, ngoni, and vocals. Her backing musicians are two African guys from Senegal. She blends jazz and rock and West African rhythms. She is from Germany and can really rock her guitar.

Tonight was a really interesting night of music. I was so glad my good frend, Kelly, could join me.
