The Final Cut

Today the saga of the cherry tree did reach the end.  Phil came with his chainsaw, and ‘hey-presto’, a trailer full of firewood.
 
We took a good size chunk off the main trunk of the cherry tree, and Phil fashioned a chopping board size block of wood from it.  That will need to be seasoned before plaining, but one of the offcuts looks interesting as a garden or patio ornament now.
 
All that remains is for the daughter to pick up the trailer and take it home.  Hopefully we will see the trailer back by the time the pandemic has gone away.
