How rude!

I’m pretty certain this bee was giving me the finger as I patiently waited for him to finish with the ragwort I wanted to dig up!

Ragwort, or Stinking Willie as it’s also called, causes liver damage in horses so obviously we get rid of it as soon as we see it in the paddocks.

It’s also poisonous to cats and dogs, but it doesn’t taste nice so most animals avoid it. Bees like it though, so I do feel bad for them when I pull it up. There’s loads of it along the roadsides though, so they can have that instead.

Worth noting humans would have to eat a huge amount to be affected and that touching it or breathing in the pollen or seeds are harmless to us.
