Pancake Rocks
When we were about to leave Greymouth, Paula and Gordon said to us, "do not miss seeing Punakaiki Pancake Rocks on your way to Murchison". What wonderful advice that was.
See better in LARGE.
It made a most welcome lunch stop on the road between Westport and Greymouth as we headed up the coast. There are lots of pathways, walkways and different views of these magnificent rocks.
Being a warm sunny day with calm seas, there was no swell and so there was no action from the blowholes. A good reason to go back there again next year!
The reason we both put up our blips with no words was the lack of internet power at our motel in Murchison. So we stood outside the manager's office lateish at night, holding the laptops in our arms while we got enough signal to get up our blips! Blippers never give up!
