HAM 316
Trailing suction hopper dredger Dutch flagged HAM 316 dredging the deepwater channel used by container ships (and cruise ships when they return to sea). The channel also leads to Glasgow docks 25 miles upriver to the east.
In the foreground is the bow of the paddle steamer Waverley her new boilers now in steam having sailed here to Custom House Quay from James Watt dock on Friday.
She will start sea trials on the Clyde this week
Extras - two more of the Waverley. Lady H and I sat on a bench at the quayside for an hour watching the gleaming old lady taking on water.
Quite a few other snappers snapping
