Those Date and Lemon Scones!
It’s those Date and Lemon Scones again!! It was an early start this morning to make sure I had time to bake some of my fail safe signature dish. This scone recipe has been my go to one since I first saw them made on Masterchef many years ago. They never let me down. Well that’s until I made the mistake of using plain flour instead of Self Raising flour. I had just put the first batch in the oven when I realised my mistake. The finished product turned out to be a very sad biscuit sized scone. So it was back to the drawing board and fortunately I had the ingredients to make another batch which as you will see turned out just the way I like them.
When they arrived at my friends parents home in Lithgow they were very well received and this proud wombat was as pleased as punch.
It really tried to snow out here this afternoon and I believe there was a slightly heavier fall in Blackheath village. I’m hoping fingers crossed that there may be a white Wombat Hollow when I wake up in the morning.
