2067. Stirling Castle
We didn’t visit the castle today but I thought this was a nice view of it from where we were parked in Stirling this morning.
We were hoping to drive to Fife today but couldn’t find anything we could visit that was open and had toilet facilities as we wanted to take a picnic and stay out for most of the day. We then thought about a distillery tour and looked at a few but most needed 24 hours notice for a booking but eventually decided on a trip to Stirling Gin Distillery which is situated not far from Stirling Castle. We managed to park quite close and took a wee walk into Stirling itself before returning to the car and sitting near to this spot to have a wee picnic. The sun was shining and it was lovely. The shopping centre in Stirling was well organised (and the toilets were open!) so we wandered around a bit first. The tour was excellent and we came home with three rather nice craft gins having tried them all on the tour. Back home now for a rest! We also met a couple of delightful Border Terriers (Or Terrorists as they’re known!) who kept everyone entertained!
