I'd camped on top of a hill in case there was a fine sunrise but, when I got up at 04:30, it was clearly not going to happen. By then, Django had realised that it was rather warmer in the tent with me than under the flysheet. So I cut my losses and just walked out. Indeed, soon after taking the extra, valley mist began rising into the hills, so the walk out was rather dull. However, as I approached Ninemileburn, I dropped out of the mist and there were some strange light effects to photograph (above). I was home by just after 06:30 and, after another three hours' sleep, had a relaxing day.
