Looking Over Bridges II
Late cycle up the river. I am running the relay in the Edinburgh marathon at the end of May. So today I was intending to measure out a circuit with my cycle computer so I know how far to run in training. (might seem very organised, but the cycling is really just a good reason not to go running.)
I stopped at one of the wee bridges and saw some trout rising. By the time I stopped gazing into the water and watching the fish, it was getting dark and I had only covered about a third of my distance. Oh well, another day.
When I came to leave, I realised my hat wasn't on my head. I could have sworn it was there when I stopped. I thought it must have slipped off into the river somehow, but couldn't see it anywhere. It also had a sentimental fishing fly stuck in it, so I was doubly grumpy.
Started to head back and, after a few hundred yards, there was my hat in the middle of the path where I'd stopped to take a pic on the way up. - Great feeling finding something you think has gone forever.
What a pointless little story. Well sometimes it's nice not to have too much excitement. :O?
