Sunday sky

Another day of doing not very much. I gave the NW facing side of the 'shed' a second coat of Cuprinol. #3 son and H came by to pick up a case for their trip to France and drop off a BBQ.

weatherwise another fine day. Not as overwhelmingly sunny as yesterday but very pleasant. My garden is so sheltered I was even able to remove the cardi. More sewing and listening to the radio interspersed with some dead heading and a wee bit tidying of clematis.

Trip to Margiotta and then a wait for the kitchen followed by far too much to eat. Despite doing nothing I was tired so an early night. Too early for the light show which would have been better tonight, clouds.

I'm taking advantage of 'Boris's bribe' on Tuesday but I feel quite guilty about it. And of course it's more like a tax rebate as ultimately as a tax payer I'm paying for it. But illogical, go out and be in a bar or restaurant with strangers but no going to a place where you can guarantee any infection will be killed (that's a swimming pool btw!).

It's fascinating to see that 6 months on we have finally managed to get to the situation the most effective countries were in at the start of the pandemic, solid info about the location and number of cases in a cluster and the number of contacts traced and under investigation. It's only by doing this that we can stop people thinking that Covid-19 exists in the ether, that everyone has it, that everyone will get it and that everyone will die from it. Of course we still don't have the recovery data but what we do have now is such an improvement. Facts are so much better than fear in this situation and it would be even better if we could help people understand and assess personal risk. There is still no logic behind the rules of course, that would be too much to hope for.
