Happy New Year!

The local supermarket had some unusual fruit on display under the banner of Happy Chinese New Year.

These Dragon Fruit are representing the Year of the Dragon which is just ending and they are a really delicious fruit. Almost a cross between a pear and a kiwi fruit... yum! The other fruit is a rambutan which is a little like a lychee, quite sweet and crunchy. They made a lovely display together and I could see that people were thinking I was a bit crazy taking photos of them so I had to be quick :o)

It was very hot today marking the beginning of a serious heat wave - 5 days of over 40c are predicted ugh! Fortunately we live and work in the same building so I think we'll be hunkering down inside and only going outside when really necessary!
