Security Message

I normally don't think twice about moving around Milan, but I just received a Security Message from the Consulate warning about the increase in crime and violence... somehow feeling self-conscience after reading that and just taking the metro. Dark times indeed...

"We urge you to be vigilant in securing your valuables at home and in public. Be aware of your surroundings and aware of strangers who approach you. Exercise caution in revealing your address to unknown individuals.

Review your personal security plans; remain aware of your surroundings, including local events; and monitor local news stations for updates. Maintain a high level of vigilance and take appropriate steps to enhance your personal security."
